Endicott Survives Wentworth Scare

CAMBRIDGE, MA - Endicott College beat Wentworth Institute of Technology Tuesday night in five games, going away for a 3-2 victory in Northeast Conference Volleyball Association action 27-30, 30-26, 32-34, 30-24, 17-15.

Endicott leading the final match 14-10 gave up five unanswered points and then rallied to win 17-15. The Gulls, who have won three of their last four games, raised their record to 7-5 overall and 4-1 in the NECVA. Wentworth fell to 3-10 overall.

Clay Ostrander (Wheaton, IL/Wheaton-Warrenville Regional) led the Gulls with a career-high 28 kills, along with 3 aces, 3 blocks, and 12 digs. Junior Matt Keepin (Harwinton, CT/Lewis S. Millis) and senior co-captain Mike Coflesky (Royalston, MA/Athol) also played solid for Endicott each tallying 15 kills while Keepin also had 3 blocks.

Senior co-captain Eric Hunter (Delmar, NY/Bethlehem) had 57 assists and 15 digs, while freshmen Dan Coleman (Millis, MA/Millis) had 11 digs.

Endicott will host Emmanuel Thursday night at 7 p.m.
