May 3, 2004

The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced its first-ever AVCA All-America awards for Division III Men's Volleyball. Junior, Jeremy Fontaine earned AVCA 2nd Team All-America for his outstanding performances on the court.

Throughout the 2004 season, the New England Coaches Volleyball Association (NECVA), named the co-captain NECVA New England Player of the Week three times, and NECVA Player of the Week two times. Fontaine was also named to the All-Tournament team at the Endicott Invitational and the NECVA Championships. At the conclusion of the season, Fontaine earned NECVA All-New England 1st Team honors.

Fontaine averaged 6.09 points per game and 5.24 kills per game. His hitting percentage stands at .338, while he averaged .48 service aces per game and 2.26 digs per game.

The AVCA has sponsored a men's collegiate postseason awards program since 1991. However, Division III men's programs competed for the same spots on the AVCA All-America teams with NCAA Division I and II teams. A Division III student-athlete has never been honored on the AVCA Men's All-America Teams in the 13 years since the program was initiated.
