Stats

VS. JWU

Endicott defeated Johnson & Wales in 3 straight, 30-23, 30-23, 36-34 to open their first double-header at home of the season. In the second match of the day, the trend continued as they defeated Lasell College 30-28, 30-17, 30-21.

Game one against JWU was highlighted by an eight point scoring run behind the serving of Captain Jeremy Fontaine. In game two the Gulls lost some of their composure as they handed JWU 15 of their 23 points in errors. Game three was a nail-biter the whole way through but the Gulls pushed ahead at the end behind the offense of freshman Eddie Marchand and the serving of Fontaine. Outside hitter Eric Hunter led the team defensively with nine digs and 41 error-free service receptions.

James Collins and David Santos led the offense for Johnson & Wales with 15 and 11 kills respectively. On defense, it was Santos with 11 digs and Dan Woodside with nine trying to stop the Gulls.

VS. Lasell

Fontaine continued to burn Endicott opponents with his offense as he collected 19 kills in 34 attempts against Lasell. Setter Pablo Baez ran the Endicott kill-focused offense that saw Marchand aide Fontaine's efforts with ten of his own kills. The Gulls aced Lasell ten times in the match.

Chris Morin was the go-to man for Lasell, tallying 20 kills in the three-game match. Defensively, Justin Ruggiero led Lasell with three solo and two assist blocks and Mark Henry with five digs.

Endicott has won three straight matches in a row and looks to continue the trend on Tuesday, February 3 as they travel to MIT for a 7:00 PM match.
