Men's Tennis Falls to Holy Cross, 7-0

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Endicott men's tennis team lost to Holy Cross, 7-0, in non-conference action on Thursday evening at the Sinnott Family Tennis Facility.

Today's match was played in conjunction with NCAA Division I and II rules which only awards one point for winning the doubles portion of the match (best of 3, one point). This is in contrast to NCAA Division III rules which awards one point for each doubles flight won by a team.

Holy Cross was able to win both of its doubles matches to start things off in the respective order of the No. 2 (6-1) and No. 1 (6-3) flights to take a 1-0 lead headed into singles action.

Meanwhile, in singles, the Crusaders earned wins in all the singles matches beginning with the No. 4 (6-0, 6-0), No. 5 (6-0, 6-0), No. 1 (6-0, 6-3), No. 3 (6-4, 6-2), and finally No. 2 (7-5, 6-2) positions.

For Endicott, Cooper Walters (Madeira Beach, Fla.) fought hard at the No. 2 spot, but ended up falling (7-5, 6-2) despite a solid effort.
