Men's Tennis Bests UMass Boston, 6-3

BEVERLY, Mass. - The Endicott men's tennis team topped UMass Boston, 6-3, on Saturday evening at the Bass River Tennis Club.

Charles Book (Deven, Pa) highlighted the match with a pair of wins versus the Beacons.

In doubles action, the pairing of Book and Thomas Brent (Gorham, Maine) took the first point of the match, 8-2, at the No. 2 position. Meanwhile, UMass Boston was able to claim the other two doubles points by 8-4 scores at No. 1 and No. 3 respectively. 

Down 2-1 going into singles play, Endicott was able to take five out of the six flights to seal the match.  

Collin Dinardo (Westport, Mass.) picked up a dominant 6-1, 6-2 victory at the No. 6 slot. Ozan Cermik (Cumberland, R.I.) and Justin Toler (Concord, N.H.) claimed wins at No. 5 (6-1, 7-5) and No. 4 (3-6, 6-2, 10-6), respectively. Finally, Daniel Rinkert (Ben Lomond, Calif) was able to seal the win 7-5, 6-4 at the No. 1 flight. 

Book also earned his second victory of the day in a hard-fought triumph 1-6, 7-5, 12-10 at the No. 2 spot.

Endicott (3-3) has a bye week before returning to action at Colby Sawyer on Friday, March 22 at 3:00 PM. UMass Boston (1-2) will travel to Emerson College Saturday, March 16 (time to be determined later).
