Bentley Downs Endicott, 9-0

BEVERLY, Mass. - The Endicott men's tennis team dropped its spring season home opener to Bentley University, 9-0, on Saturday evening at the Bass River Tennis Club.   

The Falcons started the contest by taking all three doubles matches in the order of No. 1 (8-1), No. 2 (8-1), and a tightly contested win at No. 3 (8-5) against Ozan Cermik (Cumberland, R.I.)Charles Book (Devon, Pa.).

Meanwhile, in singles play, Bentley captured wins at No. 3 (6-0, 6-0) and No. 4 (6-2, 6-2) singles to seal the victory before completing the sweep the rest of the way in the respective order of No. 5 (6-0, 6-2), No. 1 (6-4, 6-0), No. 2 (6-4, 6-2), and No. 6 (6-2, 6-3).

"Give credit to Bentley, they executed at a high level," said Endicott men's tennis coach Anthony D'Angelo. "We will learn from it and gear up for next weekend."

Endicott (2-3) hosts UMass Boston on Saturday, March 9 at 6:00 PM. Bentley (3-3) travels to Orlando, Florida for a neutral site match against Ithaca College on Monday, March 11 (time to be determined).
