Endicott Drops Season Opener Against Emerson, 6-3

WINCHESTER, Mass. - The Endicott men's tennis team fell to Emerson, 6-3, on Sunday afternoon at the Winchester Indoor Tennis Club.  

Emerson came out of doubles action with a 2-1 lead from victories at the No. 1 (8-4) and No. 2 (8-6) positions and then received wins at the No. 2 (6-2, 6-2), No. 1 (6-4, 6-3), and No. 3 (7-6 (7-3), 6-3) singles spots to secure the match for the Lions.  

On the Gulls' side, Endicott saw the doubles pairing of Christos Papadopoulos (Weymouth, Mass.) Collin Dinardo (Westport, Mass) earn a dominant 8-0 triumph at the No. 3 position. Charles Book (Devon, Pa.) and DiNardo also won at the No. 4 (7-6 (7-5), 6-1) and No. 6 (6-0, 6-4) singles flights, respectively.

"I'm encouraged by the level of maturity we showed," said Endicott men's tennis head coach Anthony D'Angelo. "We will look to build off of it next weekend."

Endicott (2-2) hosts Bentley in its home opener on Saturday, March 2nd at 3:00 PM. Emerson (4-1) hosts Kings (Pa.) on Sunday, March 3rd at 1:30 PM.
