BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott men's tennis team defeated Gordon College, 5-2, in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) quarterfinals on Saturday afternoon at the South Campus Tennis Courts.
The Gulls went 2-1 in doubles with crucial wins from the pairings of Christopher Kirkpatrick (Newburyport, Mass.) and Charles Book (Devon, Pa.) at No. 1 (8-6) and Thomas Brent (Gorham, Maine) and Christos Papadopoulos (Weymouth, Mass.) at No. 3 (8-4).
Book then grabbed the first win for Endicott in singles play at the No. 4 slot with scores of 6-0, 6-1. Keaton McCleary (Charlotte, N.C) went on to claim a victory at No. 5 by scores of 6-2, 6-2 before Kirkpatrick sealed the win for the Gulls with his 6-3, 6-4 triumph at No. 1.

"Great win today over a tough, tough opponent," said Endicott head men's tennis coach Jeremy Howard. "Everyone contributed today and we are psyched at the opportunity to take on the perennial conference champs in a few days."
