CCC TOURNAMENT: No. 4 Endicott Hosts No. 5 Gordon On Saturday (1 PM)

BEVERLY, Mass. – The fourth-seeded Endicott men's tennis team will host fifth-seeded Gordon this Saturday at 1 PM to take on the Scots in the quarterfinal round of the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Tournament.

THE MATCHUP: Endicott defeated Gordon, 6-3, on the road in the regular season. The Gulls took a 2-1 lead after doubles play and went on to claim their first conference win of the season. BOX SCORE | RECAP

WHAT TO WATCH FOR: Singles play in this Saturday's postseason matchup will be key. In the regular season, three out of the six singles matches went to three sets (two with tie-breaks). 

HOW THEY GOT HERE: Endicott posted a 10-7 overall record and 5-3 mark in conference play. The Gulls notched league wins against Wentworth (5-0), Western New England (7-2), Curry (9-0) and Salve Regina (9-0). 

Meanwhile, Gordon went 7-10 overall and 4-4 in conference. The Scots earned league wins against Wentworth (9-0), Curry (9-0), Western New England (7-2), and Salve Regina (9-0). 

ALL-CONFERENCE HONOREES: Both teams placed multiple student-athletes on All-CCC Teams, respectively. Endicott's Daniel Rinkert (Ben Lomond, Calif.) earned Rookie of the Year honors to highlight the Gulls, while Gordon's Michael D'Antuono (Mapleville, R.I.) was named Senior Scholar-Athlete. Endicott All-Conference Honorees| Men's Tennis All-CCC Teams

WHAT'S NEXT: The winner of Saturday's match will advance to the CCC Tournament semifinals and face No. 1 seed Nichols on Wednesday, May 2 on the road at a time to be determined later.
