NEWPORT, R.I. – The Endicott men's tennis team defeated Salve Regina, 9-0, in its last regular season match before heading into playoffs.
In doubles action, Christopher Kirkpatrick (Newburyport, Mass.) paired up with Charles Book (Devon, Pa.) at the No. 1 (8-1) flight, while Daniel Rinkert (Ben Lomond, Calif.) teamed up with Keaton McCleary (Charlotte, N.C.) at No. 2 (8-4) and the pairing of Thomas Brent (Gorham, Maine) and Christos Papadopoulos (Weymouth, Mass.) were in the No. 3 (8-4) slot.
Meanwhile, in singles play, Kirkpatrick gave the Gulls a 4-0 lead with a 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 1. Book then clinched the win at No. 3 with a 3-6, 6-2, 10-6 triumph.
The Gulls also saw Rinkert, Cermik, Anthony Rinaldi (Attleboro Falls, Mass.) and Chris Leighton (North Reading, Mass.) claim victories at No. 2 (6-1, 6-0), No. 4 (6-2, 6-2), No. 5 (6-2, 6-2), and No. 6 (4-6, 6-4, 10-6), respectively.
