Men’s Tennis Blanks Curry, 9-0

MILTON, Mass. – The Endicott men's tennis team defeated Curry, 9-0, in league play Saturday afternoon at the Big Nine Tennis Courts.

The Gulls breezed through doubles action as Ozan Cermik (Cumberland, R.I.) and Daniel Rinkert (Ben Lomond, Calif.) opened the match with an 8-0 victory at the No. 3 flight. Thomas Brent (Gorham, Maine)and Christos Papadopoulos (Weymouth, Mass.) followed with an 8-5 win at the No. 2 slot before Christopher Kirkpatrick (Newburyport, Mass.) and Charles Book (Devon, Pa.) closed doubles play with an 8-5 victory at the No. 1 flight. 

Papadopoulos opened singles play with a 6-0, 6-0 win at the No. 6 slot, while Kirkpatrick sealed the victory at the No. 1 flight with a 6-0, 6-2 triumph. Endicott also saw Rinkert, Cermik, Brent and Book pick up wins at No. 4 (6-0, 6-0), No. 5 (6-0, 6-0), No. 2 (6-2, 6-0) and No. 3 (6-0, 6-3), respectively.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Rinkert leads the Gulls with seven singles wins on the season. 
  • The pairing of Kirkpatrick and Book is 3-1 on the season. 
  • Cermik and Rinkert earned their first win as a doubles pair in today's victory.
