Men’s Tennis Downs Western New England On Senior Day, 7-2

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott men's tennis team earned a 7-2 league victory over Western New England University on Saturday evening at the South Campus Tennis Courts on Senior Day.

Prior to the match, Endicott senior Christopher Kirkpatrick (Newburyport, Mass.) was honored for his contributions towards the men's tennis program and the Endicott College community.

Meanwhile, in the match, the Gulls swept all three doubles flights and earned wins at No. 4 and No. 2 singles to lock up the victory against the Golden Bears.

Thomas Brent (Gorham, Maine) and Christos Papadopoulos (Weymouth, Mass.) posted an 8-1 triumph at No. 3 doubles, while Charles Book (Devon, Pa.)/Daniel Rinkert (Ben Lomond, Calif.) followed with an 8-3 win at No. 2 and Kirpatrick/Keaton McCleary (Charlotte, N.C.) completed the sweep at No. 1 with a hard-fought 9-7 decision.

In singles, Rinkert bested his opponent at No. 4 by a swift 6-0, 6-1 score before Brent wrapped up the victory with a 6-4, 6-3 triumph at No. 2.

The Gulls also saw McCleary register a 6-3, 7-5 win at No. 5 and Anthony Rinaldi (Attleboro Falls, Mass.) turn in a gritty 7-6 (7-3), 0-6, 10-5 win at No. 6.
