Endicott Turns Away Wentworth, 5-0

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott men's tennis shut out Wentworth, 5-0, Sunday afternoon at the Bass River Tennis Club.

Anthony Rinaldi (Attleboro Falls, Mass.) was the Gulls sole double-winner of the day.

The Gulls took a 3-0 lead following doubles play as Christopher Kirkpatrick (Newburyport, Mass.) and Charles Book (Devon, Pa.) opened the match with an 8-4 win at the No. 1 flight. Thomas Brent (Gorham, Maine) and Justin Toler (Concord, N.H.) also secured an 8-4 victory at No. 2, while Rinaldi and Chris Leighton (North Reading, Mass.) won 8-5 at the No. 3 flight.

In singles play, Ozan Cermik (Cumberland, R.I.) and Rinaldi secured the victory with wins at No. 5 (6-0, 6-1) and No. 6 (6-1, 6-0), respectively.

"The doubles matches really set the tone and gave us lots of momentum heading into singles," said Endicott men's head tennis coach Jeremy Howard. "Looking forward to a couple of big conference matches this week with Roger Williams and Western New England."

Endicott (7-5, 2-1 CCC) hosts Roger Williams on Tuesday, April 10 at 3:30 PM. Wentworth (3-6, 1-3 CCC) heads to Eastern Nazerene for a 3:30 PM start time on Tuesday, April 10.
