SALEM, Mass. – The Endicott men's tennis team defeated Salem State, 9-0, in a non-conference matchup on Thursday afternoon at the Central Campus Tennis Courts.
Christopher Kirkpatrick (Newburyport, Mass.), Justin Toler (Concord, N.H.), and Ozan Cermik (Cumberland, R.I.) were all double-winners for the Gulls.
Kirkpatrick paired up with Charles Book (Devon, Pa.) for an 8-1 win at the No. 1 flight before going on to top Salem State's Andrew Muttiah (Westwood, Mass.) at No. 1 singles with scores of 6-0 and 7-5.
Meanwhile, Toler teamed up with Thomas Brent (Gorham, Maine) at the No. 2 flight for a 9-7 victory then notched a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles.
At the No. 3 flight, the duo of Cermik at Christos Papadopoulos (Weymouth, Mass.) shut down the Vikings with a score of 8-2. Cermik then went on grab a 6-1, 6-1 win at the No. 6 singles flight.
Daniel Rinkert (Ben Lomond, Calif.), Keaton McCleary (Charlotte, N.C.), and Anthony Rinaldi (Attleboro Falls, Mass.) rounded out the victories at the No. 2 (6-3, 6-1), No. 4 (5-7, 6-1, 10-4), and No. 5 (6-3, 6-3) flights, respectively.
