Men's Tennis Defeats Cornell College, 6-3

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Endicott men's tennis team earned their first win of the spring season against Cornell College, 6-3, on Thursday afternoon in their third match of the PTR Spring Tennis Fest at the Long Cove Club. The Gulls swept all doubles matches before solidifying the victory in singles at flights No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6.

The doubles pairings of Thomas Brent (Gorham Maine) and Justin Toler (Concord, Mass.), and Daniel Rinkert (Ben Lomond, Calif.) and Christos Papadopoulos (Weymouth, Mass.) were both winners in today's match with respective scores of 8-2 and 8-1.

The pairing of Christopher Kirkpatrick (Newburyport, Mass.) and Keaton McCleary (Charlotte, N.C.) at the No. 1 flight rounded out the doubles sweep with a score of 9-8 (7-2).

In singles play, McCleary, Ozan Cermik (Cumberland, R.I.) and Chris Leighton (North Reading, Mass.) each handed their opponents losses at the No. 4 (6-3, 6-1), No. 5 (6-4, 6-0) and No. 6 (6-2, 6-1) flights, respectively.
