Babson Tops Endicott, 9-0

WELLESLEY, Mass. – The Endicott men's tennis team fell to Babson, 9-0, on Saturday afternoon at the Boston Sports Club in Wellesley. 

Babson took all three doubles flights to start the match in the respective order of No. 1 (8-3), No. 2 (8-3), and No. 3 (8-3).

In singles play, Thomas Brent (Gorham, Maine) battled hard at No. 4 but ultimately fell by a score of 6-2, 7-6 (7-5). The Beavers captured all singles matches - starting with No. 6 (6-2, 6-0), No. 1 (6-3, 6-0), No. 2 (6-2, 6-1), No. 3 (6-4, 6-0), No. 4 (6-2, 7-6, 7-5), and No. 5 (6-2, 6-2).

"Despite the loss I am pleased with our effort today against a top regional team," said Endicott men's tennis head coach Jeremy Howard. "Our guys stepped up and made the squad from Babson earn the win. Looking forward to getting back on the court against some tough competition down in Hilton Head."

Endicott (2-2) will travel to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina for the PTR Spring Tennis Fest, with matches starting Saturday, March 10. Babson (1-0) heads to Connecticut College on Saturday, March 10 to face the Camels.
