Men’s Tennis Shuts Out Nazareth, 9-0

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Endicott men's tennis team handed Nazareth a 9-0 loss on Sunday afternoon in non-conference action at the Van Der Meer Tennis Center.

Nicholas Eherts (New Milford, Conn.), Sean McAndrews (Vineyhard Haven, Mass.), and Justin Toler (Concord, Mass.) were all double-winners for the Gulls.

Toler teamed up with Christopher Kirkpatrick (Newburyport, Mass.) for an 8-4 victory at No. 1 doubles before he posted a 7-6 (7-3), 7-5 triumph at No. 1 singles to earn his second win of the day. Meanwhile, McAndrews notched an 8-2 victory at No. 3 doubles, and a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles, while Eherts secured an 8-3 triumph at No. 2 doubles with Keaton McCleary (Charlotte, N.C.) and a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 4 singles.

Charles Book (Devon, Pa.), Jack DeRizzo (Sarasota Springs, N.Y.), and Sam Salvas (Stowe, Vt.) rounded out the list of winners in the No. 2 (6-4, 6-2), No. 5 (6-2, 6-1), and No. 6 (6-2, 6-1) singles spots, respectively.

"Today's win was a good start to our spring trip as we played in some cold and windy conditions, but it's 30 degrees warmer here than it is in Boston so we'll take it," said Endicott men's tennis head coach Jeremy Howard.
