Men’s Tennis Lands Three On ITA Scholar-Athlete List

2016 ITA Scholar-Athlete List

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott men's tennis student-athletes Michael Dolph (Stratford, Conn.), Keaton McCleary (Newtown, Conn.), and Christos Papadopoulos (Weymouth, Mass.) were recently named Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athletes for their contributions on the tennis court and in the classroom.

In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria: 1.) be a varsity letter winner, 2.) have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and 3.) have been enrolled at their present school for at least 2 semesters (including freshman through senior year).

Dolph highlights the trio with his third career ITA Scholar-Athlete honor. Meanwhile, McCleary and Papadopoulos picked up their first career ITA Scholar-Athlete awards, respectively, in their first year of eligibility.

In 2015-16, the men's tennis program went 12-8 overall (6-2 conference) and advanced to the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Tournament semifinals for the sixth straight season. The Gulls' 12 wins in their 2015-16 campaign also tied the single-season program record for victories.
