Men’s Tennis Places Four On All-CCC Teams

CCC ALL-CONFERENCE RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott men's tennis program saw four of its student-athletes garner Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) All-Conference honors on Friday afternoon, as announced by the league office.

Christopher Kirkpatrick (Newburyport, Mass.) claimed All-CCC first team singles and doubles accolades, while Michael Dolph (Stratford, Conn.) picked up All-CCC first team doubles honors – along with Kirkpatrick – and All-CCC second team singles laurels to highlight the group.

Eric Pierce (Barrington, R.I.) was named to the All-CCC third team singles squad in addition to earning All-CCC third team doubles accolades with Keaton McCleary (Newtown, Conn.).

ALL-CCC FIRST TEAM SINGLES

CHRISTOPHER KIRKPATRICK | SOPHOMORE | NEWBURYPORT, MASS.

Kirkpatrick went 9-6 overall in singles play on the season (2-4 CCC), all at the No. 1 position for the Gulls. Some of his marquee wins included a 6-3, 6-7 (6-8), 13-11 victory against Springfield and a 1-6, 6-2, 13-11 triumph versus Wentworth.

ALL-CCC FIRST TEAM DOUBLES

CHRISTOPHER KIRKPATRICK | SOPHOMORE | NEWBURYPORT, MASS.

MICHAEL DOLPH | SENIOR | STRATFORD, CONN.

Kirkpatrick and Dolph posted a 9-6 overall record in doubles play, including a 9-5 record at No. 1 and a 5-2 showing in conference play. The Gulls duo claimed CCC victories against Wentworth (8-1), Nichols (8-3), Salve Regina (8-1), Roger Williams (8-3), Western New England (8-2).

ALL-CCC SECOND TEAM SINGLES

MICHAEL DOLPH | SENIOR | STRATFORD, CONN.

Dolph registered a 14-5 overall record (5-3 CCC) on the season, including an 8-3 showing at No. 2 singles. Dolph also went 1-0 at No. 1 and 5-1 at No. 3 over the course of the 2016 campaign. Throughout the year, Dolph compiled a six-match winning streak – which included wins over a pair of NCAA Division II opponents – from September 28, 2015 to March 15, 2016 and earned a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles against Roger Williams on April 20.

ALL-CCC THIRD TEAM SINGLES

ERIC PIERCE | JUNIOR | BARRINGTON, R.I.

Pierce notched a 13-5 overall record (6-1 CCC) including an 8-1 record at the No. 3 position. Pierce is currently on a five-match winning streak, which includes wins against Salve Regina (6-0, 6-2), Gordon (7-5, 6-4), Roger Williams (6-3, 6-3), Western New England (6-0, 6-0), and Eastern Nazarene (6-2, 6-1).

ALL-CCC THIRD TEAM DOUBLES

ERIC PIERCE | JUNIOR | BARRINGTON, R.I.

KEATON McCLEARY | FRESHMAN | NEWTOWN, CONN.

In their first season as a doubles pairing, Pierce and McCleary are 10-6 overall and 7-1 in CCC play. The duo put together a six-match winning streak from March 24 to April 18, and also claimed marquee victories against Gordon (9-8 (7-2)), and Nichols (8-3), both at the No. 2 position. Overall on the season, the duo is 2-1 at No. 1, 7-3 at No. 2, and 1-2 at No. 3.

WHAT'S NEXT

Third-seeded Endicott (11-7, 6-2 CCC) will host sixth-seeded Western New England (8-6, 3-5) this Saturday in the CCC Tournament quarterfinals at 1 p.m.
