Men’s Tennis Tops Eastern Nazarene, 6-3

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott men's tennis team ended Eastern Nazarene's five-match winning streak on Monday evening with a 6-3 conference victory over the Lions at the South Campus Tennis Courts.

For the 10th straight match, the Gulls concluded doubles play with at least a 2-1 advantage headed into singles as Endicott received wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions against Eastern Nazarene.

Nicholas Eherts (New Milford, Conn.) and Sean McAndrews (Vineyard Haven, Mass.) posted an 8-2 win at No. 3 to begin the match, while Eric Pierce (Barrington, R.I.) and Keaton McCleary (Newtown, Conn.) followed with an 8-5 victory in the No. 3 slot.

After the Lions took both the No. 1 doubles (9-8 (7-5)) and No. 1 singles (6-4, 6-1) slots from Endicott, the Gulls responded with wins at the No. 6, No. 3, and No. 4 singles positions, respectively, to clinch their second victory in a row.

Sam Salvas (Stowe, Vt.) breezed to a 6-1, 6-2 triumph at No. 6, while Pierce picked up his second win of the day with a quick 6-2, 6-1 decision at No. 3.

Eherts then followed with a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 4 to lock up the win before McCleary rounded out the list of highlights for the Gulls with a 6-2, 6-3 triumph at No. 5.
