SENIOR DAY: Rooney's Hat Trick Powers Men's Soccer Past Nichols, 5-1

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott men's soccer team downed Nichols, 5-1, in Saturday afternoon's Conference of New England (CNE) matchup at Hempstead Stadium.

Prior to the game, seniors Babak Bakhtiari (Wilmington, Mass.), Matt Duarte (Rehoboth, Mass.), Cole Fergusson (South Salem, N.Y.), Codan Foley (Carver, Mass.), Max McCurdy (South Hadley, Mass.), Camden Rigney (Wilbraham, Mass.), and Kyle Rosa (Norton, Mass.) were honored for their contributions to the Endicott men's soccer program.

After Nichols chipped in the first goal of the contest at the 14:21 mark, the Gulls quickly erased the deficit and grabbed hold of the game.

Tiago Frazao (Trumbull, Conn.) got the scoring started for the Blue and Green in the 28th minute, and Conor Rooney (Monroe, Conn.) followed with a pair to his name right before the conclusion of the first half.

In the second, Michael Lysiak (Paxton, Mass.) connected with Sam Cochran (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) on a beautiful deep ball in front of the far post, which Cochran headed into the back of the net.

Rooney wrapped up Endicott's scoring with his third tally of the afternoon in the 56th minute, as he tracked down a loose ball in front of the Nichols net and potted it for the score.

The rest of the way, the Gulls maintained possession and prevented the Bison from putting together any legitimate pressure on the attack.

Brady O'Toole (Concord, Mass.) and Rosa combined for the goalkeeping efforts. O'Toole earned the win while picking up a save and improved his record to 9-1-1 on the season.
