BEVERLY, Mass. — The No. 23 nationally ranked Endicott men's soccer team fell to Suffolk University, 2-0, in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Semifinals on Wednesday night at Hempstead Stadium.
Suffolk received tallies from Matthew Belluardo (Mahwah, N.J.) and Brady Sorensen (Plymouth, Mass.) in the win (39', 48').
Belluardo's goal came off a second-ball chance inside the box, while Sorensen buried a perfect through ball from the top right corner of the box via a feed by Miguel Varela (Milton, Mass.).
In goal, Xander Balog (Tallahassee, Fla.) made two saves to record his ninth clean sheet of the season (11-5-5).
Kyle Rosa (Norton, Mass.) turned away one shot in the loss (6-2-3) for the first-seeded Gulls.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Suffolk will compete for its second conference championship in program history on Saturday (GNAC title in 2010).
- The Rams won their second game in the all-time series versus Endicott (2-3-0).
- Suffolk earned its second win of the season versus the Gulls (9/22/22, W, 1-0).
WHAT'S NEXT
No. 23 Endicott (12-5-4) awaits the announcement of a potential at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament next week. The Gulls are currently positioned second in the NCAA Region II Rankings.
Fourth-seeded Suffolk (10-5-5) will look to defeat second-seeded Roger Williams in the CCC Championship on Saturday, November 5 in Bristol, R.I. at 1 PM.
