CCC SEMIFINALS: Roger Williams Edges Endicott, 1-0 (OT)

Team huddle.

BEVERLY, Mass. – Garrett Bolton (Candia, N.H.) delivered the game-winning goal off a header in the 95th minute to lift No. 5 Roger Williams to a 1-0 overtime win against No. 1 Endicott in the semifinal round of the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Tournament on Wednesday night.

Bolton's game-winner came off a corner kick as Connor Edwards (Deerfield, Mass.) sent his cross to the back post for Bolton, who did the rest, to send Roger Williams to the CCC Championship for the first time since 2013.

Endicott dominated the majority of play, however, as the Gulls outshot Roger Williams, 20-10, which included a 13-4 margin in the first half, but, ultimately, the Hawks found the back of the net when it mattered most.

Edmund Geschickter (Brookline, Mass.) made seven saves to record his seventh clean sheet and improve to 11-2-0 on the season. Meanwhile, Endicott goalkeeper Jack Bacon (Lincoln, R.I.) stopped five shots in the loss (6-5-1).

  • Tonight's win marks the second time Roger Williams has advanced to the CCC Championship as the fifth-seed. In 2013, the Hawks fell to No. 2 Western New England, 2-0.
  • Bolton registered his third goal of the season and second career game-winner in today's victory.
  • Endicott entered tonight's match ranked seventh in the NCAA Regional Rankings.
