2018 CCC ALL-CONFERENCE RELEASE
ENDICOTT MEN'S SOCCER ALL-CONFERENCE HISTORY
BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott men's soccer team saw seven members earn Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) All-Conference accolades, as announced by the conference office on Friday afternoon. One of those honors was a major award as senior Conner Couchot (Mason, Ohio) was named Defensive Player of the Year for the second season in a row.
The Gulls have now had four Defensive Player of the Year recipients in their 25-year program history. This is also the fourth year in a row that Endicott has had a member selected as Defensive Player of the Year.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR/ ALL-CCC FIRST TEAM
Conner Couchot | Gr. | B |Mason, Ohio
C. Couchot is a mainstay on the Endicott back line, as well as adding to the team's offense. He has played a major role in the Gull's 10-5-2 overall record and 6-0-2 mark in conference play. C. Couchot contributed to four shutouts throughout the season and also added one goal and three assists in 17 games played. This is C. Couchot's second Defensive Player of the Year award in a row and the fourth season he has been named to the All-CCC Team honors. He is the first student-athlete to win back-to-back Defensive Player of the Year honors since the award's inception in 2011.
ALL-CCC FIRST TEAM
Evan Couchot | Jr. | F | Mason, Ohio
E. Couchot had a very successful junior campaign as he recorded a total of 15 goals and one assist in 16 games played. In conference play, he led the league in goals (10) and points (20). Earlier in the season, E. Couchot made program history as he became the all-time leading career goal scorer (the previous record was 24 goals held by Josh Lewis '06). He currently has 37 career goals.
Jon Breed | Jr. | M | Atkinson, N.H.
Breed transferred to Endicott from Clemson University and made an immediate impact in the midfield for the Gulls. Breed is able to contribute both offensively and defensively and has registered two assists in 15 games played so far this season.
ALL-CCC SECOND TEAM
Dario Neukom | Sr. | M | Palma de Mallorca, Spain
Neukom has seen action in 15 of the Gulls total 17 games this season and has contributed three goals and two assists for eight points. This is his third career All-CCC award as he was named to the 2016 All-CCC Third Team and 2017 All-CCC First Team.
Arian Pilja | Fr. | B | Arlington, Mass.
Pilja has become a fixture on the Endicott defensive end in his rookie season and has played in all 17 games for the Gulls with 16 starts. Pilja has been a key part of four Endicott shutouts and has also added two goals and three assists for seven points so far this year.
ALL-CCC THIRD TEAM
Brandon Haughton | So. | M | Hartford, Conn.
Haughton has appeared in 12 games for the Gulls and started in eight of those contest. He has registered one goal throughout the season and has been a key piece of Endicott winning and maintaining possession on both halves of the field. His goal was the game-winner in a 3-2 overtime victory against conference foe Gordon. This is his second straight All-CCC Third Team honor.
Jesse Martinez | Jr. | M | Walpole, Mass.
Martinez has seen action in all 17 games with season with 14 starts. He has recorded three goals and two assists for seven points throughout the year and both of his goals were pivotal game-winners. This is Martinez's first All-CCC Team honor.
WHAT'S NEXT
Endicott clinched a share of the regular season title and the No. 1 seed in the CCC tournament this past week. The Gulls earned a first-round bye and will host the semifinal round of the CCC Tournament on Wednesday, October 31 with the time and opponent to be determined.
