No. 9 Rochester Defeats Endicott, 2-0

BEVERLY, Mass.- The Endicott men's soccer team hosted No. 9 University of Rochester on Saturday afternoon in Hempstead Stadium and the Yellowjackets came away with a 2-0 win. 

Both teams saw several scoring opportunities in the first half, with shots even at four apiece, but neither could convert so the game went into halftime tied 0-0. 

At the 46:56 mark, Rochester broke open the scoring with a header tally from Ulrik Koren (Oslo, Norway)

During the 70th minute, the Yellowjackets struck again on a goal from Josh Cooley (Mequon, Wis.) to extend the lead to 2-0. 

Endicott continued to pressure but the Rochester defense held strong to secure the win. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Jesse Haines (Villanova, Pa.) recorded three saves during the loss. 
  • Will Hartan (Hebron, Conn.) had an important defensive save in the first half to keep the game scoreless.  
  • Rochester goaltender, Patrick Conway (Acton, Mass.), made two saves to earn the shutout. 
  • Jon Breed (Atkinson, N.H.) and Brandon Haughton (Hartford, Conn.) led the Endicott offense with one shot on goal each. 

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (9-5-2, 6-0-2 CCC) will travel to Springfield for its last regular season game at 7 PM on Tuesday, October 23rd. Rochester (11-1-1, 2-1-1 UAA) hosts Case Western Reserve on Friday, October 26th for a 5 PM start.
