Jesse Martinez celebrates a goal.

CRANSTON, R.I. — The Endicott men's soccer team defeated Johnson & Wales University, 1-0, on Wednesday evening at the Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletics Complex.

Jesse Martinez's (Walpole, Mass.) first goal of the season at the 45:59 mark of the contest was the difference as the Gulls' defense buckled down the rest of the way in the second half.

Meanwhile, Martinez potted his fourth career game-winning goal for the Gulls by slotting a through ball from Evan Couchot (Mason, Ohio) into the bottom left corner of the net past Wildcats' goalkeeper Nicholas Mancini (Toms River, N.J.)
