Gulls Edged, 1-0, By No. 25 St. Joseph's (Me.)

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott men's soccer team welcomed No. 25 St. Joseph's (Me.) to Hempstead Stadium and were handed a close 1-0 loss.

The Gulls controlled play for the majority of the first half as they outshot the Monks 8-3. Endicott also recorded all three corners of the period.

Both teams continued to battle in the second half, but ultimately St. Joseph's was able to score the eventual game-winner in the 86th minute. Jackson Taylor (Gorham, Maine) sent a cross to Ryan Buonaiuto (Scituate, R.I.) who was able to shoot the ball into the left-hand side of the net.

Netminder Blake Mullen (Manchester, Conn.) picked up six saves for the Monks, while Jack Bacon (Lincoln, R.I.) recorded two.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott recorded a slight 11-10 overall shot advantage and also held the 6-3 shot on goal advantage. 
  • Conner Couchot (Mason, Ohio) and Arian Pilja (Arlington, Mass.) led the Endicott offense with two shots on goal each.
