HARTFORD, Conn. – The Endicott men's soccer team traveled to Trinity College (Conn.) and came away with a 2-1 victory.
Victor DaCosta (Rehoboth, Mass.) got the scoring started for the Gulls at the 35:29 mark with the help of Diego Maillo (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.).
Just 34 seconds into the second half, Bobby Ivatts (Walpole, Mass.) took a throw-in down the line and Ryan Cohane (Easton, Conn.) headed the ball into the left-hand side of the net to give Endicott the 2-0 lead.
Trinity responded in the 79th minute with a goal from Cody Savonen (Orleans, Mass.) to keep the Gulls from earning a shutout.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Endicott freshman goaltender, Camden Stockdale (Durham, Conn.) made his collegiate debut in net for the Gulls. He recorded nine saves.
- The Gulls were paced offensively by Jesse Martinez (Walpole, Mass.), who had six shots.
- Endicott broke Trinity's non-conference unbeaten streak, which had stood at 19-0-4 in the Bantams last 23 out-of-conference matchups.
FOR THE FOES
- Trinity goalie, Mateo Zabala (Medellin, Colombia) made six saves and is now 1-4 on the season.
- The Bantams were led offensively by Scott Brazina (Concord, Mass.) who registered four shots.
- Trinity held the slight 16-14 shot advantage.
WHAT'S NEXT
Endicott (4-1-1; 1-0-0 CCC) travels to Roger Williams for a conference matchup on Saturday, September 23 at 12 p.m. Trinity (1-4-0; 0-3-0 NESCAC) is at Colby College on Saturday, September 23 for a 1:30 p.m. kickoff.
