Ryan Cohane Selected To NSCAA All-New England Region Third Team

2016 NSCAA NCAA Division III Men's All-New England Region Teams

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division III Men's All-Region teams were announced earlier this week, and Endicott's junior back Ryan Cohane (Easton, Conn.) was named to the All-New England Third Team. 

Cohane, a first-time All-Region honoree, also earned his first Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) All-CCC First Team distinction this season as he started all 20 matches for the Gulls.The junior back joins the ranks of eight other Endicott men's soccer student-athletes to bestow All-Region honors in program history and the seventh under sixth-year head coach Joe Calabrese.

Cohane, a CCC Defensive Player of the Week winner (09/19/16), recorded a career-high two goals and a career-high two assists this season, including his first career assist against Curry on 09/17/16. He currently ranks first in program history in career minutes played (6,087) and minutes played in a single-season (2155 in 2015). Cohane also ranks second all-time in career games started with 65 starts through three seasons of action and is tied in the single-season record books for first with 23 games played and 23 starts in 2015.

Endicott (12-5-3) finished the 2016 season as the regular-season CCC champions to earn the No. 1 heading into the conference tournament before falling in the CCC Semifinals. Cohane was the anchor of the back line that registered a CCC-leading 11 shutouts this season and allowed the fewest goals among all conference schools (13) during the regular season. The Gulls have now won 12 or more games in each of the past three seasons.
