Hartan's Game-Winner Pushes Gulls Past UMass-Dartmouth, 2-1

DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The Endicott men's soccer team handed host UMass-Dartmouth its first loss of the season, 2-1, Saturday afternoon at Cressy Field in non-conference action as junior midfielder Robert Hartan (Hebron, Conn.) scored his first career game-winning goal off a through ball from Carter Ocko (Danvers, Mass.) in the 82nd minute to clinch the win for the Gulls.

Freshman forward Evan Couchot (Mason, Ohio) knocked a header into the upper left corner of the net for the first goal of the match in the 33rd minute on an assist from senior midfielder Paul Erne (San Diego, Calif.) as the Gulls took a 1-0 lead into halftime.

Junior midfielder Fabio Araujo (Brockton, Mass.) knotted the score at one apiece with the equalizer in the 57th minute on a feed from senior forward Matt Vidal (New Bedford, Mass.).

  • Today's match saw the Gulls win their fourth straight match against UMass-Dartmouth, though the Corsairs still hold the all-time series lead dating back prior to the 2001 season, 9-4-1.
