KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Endicott men's soccer senior midfielder Shintaroh Itoh (Nerima, Tokyo, Japan) has been selected to the Men's Scholar All-East Region Second Team as announced by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).

In two seasons for the Gulls after transferring from Ohio Northern University, Itoh earned Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) All-CCC First Team and NSCAA All-New England Region Second Team honors in his senior season.

Itoh, a sports management major, carries a 3.57 GPA and was one of 34 student-athletes and the only representative of the CCC to be selected across the three academic teams. In his time at Endicott, Itoh has completed internships with the Western Mass Pioneers and FC Osaka Professional Soccer Club and will be interning with the New England Revolution in Spring 2016.

Itoh earned CCC Academic All-Conference in 2014 and is a member of the Endicott Academic Varsity Club for maintaining a GPA of 3.50 or higher. At his previous institution, he was recognized as Academic All-Ohio Conference in 2013 and was a two-time Ohio Northern University Dean's List honoree.

In 23 matches this season, Itoh amassed five goals (three game-winners) and a conference-leading 10 assists en route to 20 points that tied him for second on the team.

The two-time CCC Offensive Player of the Week's 10 assists in a single season ranks tied for second all-time in program history and is fifth all-time for career assists (12).

The Gulls (16-3-4) finished as the runners-up in both the CCC Championship and the Eastern College Athletic Association (ECAC) Division III New England Championship to complete the best season in program history.
