CORVIAS ECAC MEN'S SOCCER PLAYERS OF THE WEEK (WEEK ENDING OCT. 11)

WEINSTEIN CHOSEN FOR WEEKLY AWARD

DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced the Corvias ECAC Men's Soccer Players of the Week for the week ending October 11, and Endicott's Nick Weinstein (Trumbull, Conn.) has been named DIII New England Region Defensive Player of the Week.

The junior goalkeeper helped the Gulls to a 2-0 week as he made 18 saves in goal, including a new career-high (11) against Curry in a 2-1 double-overtime thriller on October 10. His shutout streak was snapped against the Colonels in the 87th minute after 822:19 of scoreless action in goal, but Weinstein won his ninth consecutive game.

Weinstein set a new Endicott men's soccer program record with nine shutouts in a single season (eight in a row) with a 1-0 clean sheet against Salem St. on October 5. He has allowed just six goals this season (best among CCC goalkeepers), leads the conference in save percentage (.885) and is ranked in the top-15 in all of NCAA Division III men's soccer in goals against average, (0.442).

Weinstein and the Gulls are back in action Saturday when they host Western New England for a 3:30 p.m. start in a battle of the Commonwealth Coast Conference unbeatens (both 5-0 in conference.)
