Al Khalifa and Weinstein Receive Weekly CCC Honors

SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- Following a 2-0 week that saw the Gulls post back-to-back shutout victories in a 3-0 win over Lasell and a 2-0 win over conference rival Nichols, the Endicott men's soccer team saw Abdullah Al Khalifa (Riffa, Bahrain) and Nick Weinstein (Trumbull, Conn.) receive Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) weekly awards.

Senior forward Abdullah Al Khalifa was named the CCC Co-Offensive Player of the Week. Al Khalifa scored three goals on the week, bringing his season total to a team-leading six goals. Al Khalifa helped the Endicott men's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Lasell College in which he netted two goals and tacked on another in the team's 2-0 shutout of reigning CCC Champion Nichols College. Al Khalifa now has six goals in the past four games.

Junior goalkeeper Nick Weinstein has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season (09/08/15). Weinstein has not allowed a goal since the 74:17 mark in a 3-1 loss to No. 1 nationally-ranked Tufts University on September 8.

Since then, he has posted three consecutive shutout victories and made nine saves this week in the team's two wins, including matching a season-high five saves in Friday night's 2-0 shutout of 2014 CCC Champion Nichols College. Weinstein helped the Gulls beat Nichols for the first time in three seasons and has kept a clean sheet in goal for the past 285:43 minutes of play.

The Gulls have a pair of road contests this week as they travel to Coast Guard tomorrow and then to CCC foe Roger Williams on Saturday.
