Rizzo and Streib earn CCC Weekly Honors
CCC Athletes of the Week Release

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. –
After a 2-1 week for the Endicott men’s soccer team, Gulls forwards Jared Rizzo (Peabody, Mass.) and Ben Streib (Ellington, Conn.) were named this week’s CCC Offensive and Rookie of the Week, respectively.  The Blue and Green recorded road wins over Westfield State, 2-1, and CCC foe Salve Regina, 4-3.

Senior Jared Rizzo, the CCC Offensive Player of the Week, collected four points on the week by scoring goals in each of Endicott’s victories over Westfield State and Salve Regina.  Both goals were the first goals of the match, setting the tone for the wins.  Rizzo’s tallies were his first goals of the season as he has come back from injury to be an offensive threat for the Gulls.

Freshman Ben Streib provided two critical, back-to-back second-half goals against Salve Regina this past Saturday and was named CCC Rookie of the Week.  With the match tied 1-1 entering the second half, Streib scored in the 47th and then again in the 55th minute, with an assist to Alex Jorge (Billerica, Mass.), to give Endicott a two-goal advantage over the Seahawks.   He now leads the Gulls with three goals and six points on the season.

Streib is the second Endicott freshman to take conference honors as Aaron Kanter (Medfield, Mass.) won both Defensive and Rookie of the Week accolades one week ago.

Rizzo, Streib, and the rest of the Endicott men’s soccer team will be in action tonight against non-conference opponent St. Joseph’s (ME) at 6:30 pm at Endicott Stadium.
