Final Stats

BIDDEFORD, ME - The Endicott College Gulls and University of New England Nor'easters played to a scoreless draw in The Commonwealth Coast Conference men's soccer action Wednesday afternoon.

Endicott is now 0-6-3 overall, 0-4-2 in conference play. UNE stands at 2-6-1 overall, 1-4-1 in TCCC matches.

After 90 scoreless minutes in regulation time, each team would have a quality scoring opportunity during overtime.

The Gulls chance came in the first 10-minute overtime period when Shaun Martin (Salisbury, MA/ St. Thomas Aquinas) directed a header towards the Nor'easter net. UNE back Scott Bottomley (Chesterfield, NH) came from the opposite side and deftly headed the ball away from goal mouth and out of play.

UNE would have a chance of its own with just over 20 seconds to play in the second extra session. Gui Barbosa (Saco, ME) broke in from the left side and pushed a low shot towards the right post. The ball slipped by just wide.

Cameron Twiss (Reading, MA/Bishop Fenwick) had three saves for the Gulls, while his counterpart Derek Poulin (Scarborough, ME) turned aside six shots.

Each team resumes play Saturday. Endicott hosts Wentworth Institute of Technology at 2:30 p.m. in Beverly, MA, while UNE entertains Roger Williams University at 3:30 p.m.
