BEVERLY, MA - Tyler Davis (Laconia, NH/Laconia) scored in the 80th minute to break a 2-2 tie and lift the Colby-Sawyer Chargers to a 3-2, TCCC win over Endicott College.

Davis' goal came with just ten minutes to play in regulation as he rifled a shot to the right of EC goalkeeper Scott Emmens (Wethersfield, CT/Wethersfield), who deflected the ball over his head and toward the net. Unfortunately for the Gulls a lunging DJ Picariello (Boxford, MA/Worcester Academy) could not keep the ball from trickling across the goal line.

The Blue and Green opened the scoring taking a 1-0 lead at the 15:30 mark when Pranam Lipinski (Adams, MA/Hoosac Valley) lifted a ball over the opposing defense allowing Kyle Schmutte (Wilbraham, MA/Minnechaug) a one-on-one match up with Chargers goalie Chris Feltes (Manchester, NH/Trinity). Schmutte pushed a shot to the left corner beating Feltes and giving EC the lead.

Colby-Sawyer answered back in the 33rd minute as Chris Rafferty scored a similar goal squeezing through the EC defense and ending up alone in front of Emmens. The Chargers took a 2-1 lead early in the second half when Doug Currie (Harvard, MA/Broomfield School) hit a shot from outside the penalty area that caught Emmens off-guard and found its way to the back of the net.

Playing with a sense of urgency the Gulls tied the game in the 74th minute when Pirapong Sirikietsoong (Bankok, Thailand) laced a shot that deflected off pair of defenders into the net. Sirikietsoong's goal made it 2-2 going into the final 15-minutes of play before Davis knocked home the game winner just five minutes later.

Emmens, who has played strong in net in the early going made six, saves in the loss while Feltes made four stops for the Chargers.

The loss drops the Gulls to 0-4-1 overall and 0-3 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference while the win improves Colby-Sawyer to 2-2-2 overall and 2-0-1 in conference play. The Chargers return to action on Saturday when they host Roger Williams at 12:30 pm in New London, NH. The Blue and Green will try to get on the winning track when they host Anna Maria on Tuesday September 25 at 4:00 pm on the turf.
