SALEM, MA - Just three days after a hard fought, 1-1, draw with Brandeis University, the Endicott College men's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision to local North Shore rival Salem State College tonight at Alumni Field.

Salem State, playing in their first contest of the 2007 season, rode the stellar performance of reigning Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Player of the Year Yuta Kizaki (Karatsu-Shi, Japan), as the junior midfielder notched a natural hat-trick in the Vikings' 4-0 victory.

Kizaki, who helped lead the 2006 Vikings to the MASCAC regular season title with 15 victories, opened the scoring at 14:09 of the first half off a feed from sophomore defender Kory Pacheco (Smithfield, RI/LaSalle Academy) to put the home team up 1-0. The Gulls would enter the intermission trailing by one.

The two teams opened the second half with Kizaki staking the Vikings a two-goal margin as he buried a feed from Victor Salinas from 15-yards out to put Salem State up by two. Kizaki completed the natural hat-trick at 70:17 when he found the back of the net off a nice pass from Jared Barbosa (Lowell, MA/Nashua). Marcello Silva (Malden, Brazil/Malden) closed out for scoring on an unassisted tally at 86:47. Salem State held a strong shooting advantage as they outshot the Gulls, 26-14, en route to the victory.

Junior goalkeeper Pawel Brzycky (Krakow, Poland/Ware) registered the shutout between the pipes making nine saves for SSC. Endicott goalkeeper Scott Emmens (Wethersfield, CT/Wethersfield) made 10 stops for the Gulls (0-1-1).

The Blue and Green look to rebound on Saturday, September 8th as they travel to Fitchburg State College for a 6:00 PM non-conference contest with the Falcons.
