WALTHAM, MA - The Brandeis University and Endicott College men's soccer teams each scored a first-half goal and as the Judges and Gulls battled to a 1-1 draw on Gordon Field today, in what was the season opener for both teams.

Brandeis (0-0-1) opened the scoring early taking a 1-0 in the seventh minute. Junior forward Ben Premo (Florence, MA) took a feed from junior Alex Mithoefer (Chappaqua, NY), turned and fired the ball into the net. It was the 27th goal of Premo's career, moving him into ninth on the University's all-time goal-scoring list. His 68 career points are 12th all-time for the Judges.

Endicott (0-0-1) evened the score in the 40th minute as senior forward Pranam Lipinski (Adams, MA/Hoosac Valley) placed a corner kick right on the head of classmate Eric Booth (Belchertown, MA/Belchertown), who knocked it past Brandeis sophomore keeper Taylor Bracken (No. Andover, MA).

Brandeis out shot the Blue and Green 21-8 in the first 90 minutes. EC goalkeeper Scott Emmens (Wethersfield, CT/Wethersfield) was up to the task, making seven saves, including a great stop of Brandeis sophomore Corey Bradley (Holyoke, MA) in the final minutes of play. EC got the only real chance in overtime with another corner kick but were denied to keep it a 1-1 game.

Brandeis next takes on Babson on Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 pm, while Endicott visits rival Salem State at 7:30 pm.
