Lewis Leads Gulls to Victory Over St. Joe's (ME), 5-1

Oct. 18, 2004

The Endicott Gulls extended their win total to 8, just 1 short of last seasons 9, defeating the visiting Monks of St. Joe's (ME) 5-1 yesterday in a non-conference match-up. The Gulls were led by senior forward Josh Lewis, who scored 3 goals, bringing his total goals for the year to 11. With the win EC's overall record improves to 8-5-1, while they remain 5-3-1 in the CCC.

EC jumped out to a quick lead with Lewis scoring his first goal of the night at the 2:00 mark on a through ball from sophomore Chris Croteau. Lewis tallied his second goal shortly there after off a throw in from sophomore Steve Gloria. In what turned out to be a Josh Lewis first half show, the senior tallied his final goal at the 20:00 mark on a nifty give and go from freshman Pranam Lipinski.

The second half brought more EC dominance as junior Daniel Duvernoy sent a screamer to the upper right corner of the net and made it 4-0 EC at the 48:00 mark. Only minutes later, Croteau again got involved and sent a long ball from freshman Eitan Bendesky to the back of the net. St. Joseph's only goal came with 75 minutes on the clock by forward Mike Erikson.

EC continues play on Wednesday when they face Umass Dartmouth on the road. Kick off time is 3:30pm.
