Beverly, MA - The Gulls played regional powerhouse Plymouth State to a 1-1 overtime deadlock yesterday afternoon in a non-conference men's soccer match-up.

Endicott is now 7-5-4 while Plymouth State, which is ranked sixth in New England, sees its record go to 10-2-1.

Both goals in the contest were scored in the first half. Senior Sal Friello (West Haven, CT) put the Panthers on the board at the 25:04 mark with his fifth goal of the season, with senior Mike Hallworth (Sandown, NH) picking up an assist on the play. Endicott countered 10 minutes later when senior John Haskos' (Old Lyme, CT) shot on goal hit the post and junior Nate Briggs (Valencia, Venezuela) rebounded it into the net. This was Briggs fourth goal of the season.

Neither team was able to crack the opposing team's goal through the second half or the two 10-minute overtimes. Endicott finished with a 6-5 advantage in shots on goal. Junior Mitch Donar (Vassalboro, MA) stopped four shots for the Gulls. Freshman Zach Collins (Chester Springs, PA) made his first career start in goal for Plymouth State and made three first half saves. Senior Brad Wilby (Haddonfield, NJ) came on at the start of the second half and finished with two saves.

Freshman midfielder Tyler Hardy came off the bench in the second half elevating the play for the Gulls through overtime.

Endicott hosts Wentworth in a Commonwealth Coast Conference game Saturday at 1:00. The Panthers return home for a key Little East Conference match against Western Connecticut (12 pm).
