Sept. 28, 2003

STANDISH, MAINE - A fierce Endicott College (5-3) soccer squad dominated the Monks of Saint Joseph's College (1-6-2) in today's men's soccer match.

St. Joe's did manage to keep EC scoreless for the first half, but a wearied Monks team just couldn't hold the Gulls in round 2. The Gulls were on the scoreboard 12 minutes into the second half as Daniel Duvernoy (So., Hamilton, NY) headed in Josh Lewis's (Jr., Groveland, MA) cross.

The Gulls' second goal came 16 minutes later as frosh Josh Golden scored his first collegiate goal (Narragansett, RI) ripping in a rebound off Monks' keeper Jeff Yaeger (Sr., Westfield, ME).

The Gulls out shot the Monks 16-2 and held a 10-1 corner kick advantage. Endicott's goalkeeper Colin Kemble didn't have to make a single save in the shut out, while Saint Joe's Yaeger collected 5 saves.

The Gulls will head to Tufts on Wednesday, October 1st for a 4:00 kick off.
