BEVERLY, Mass. – Former Endicott club men's rugby student-athlete Jackson Thiebes (Manchester, Mass.) has been loaned to Rugby United New York from the New England Free Jacks for the rest of the 2019 Major League Rugby (MLR) season.
Thiebes played for the New England Free Jacks during the team's the 2018-2019 exhibition season and was part of their Cara Cup squad. Before he got the call to play rugby professionally, Thiebes attended Lewis & Clark College in 2012 but then transferred to the University of Montana and attended 2013-2017 and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology.
After he finished his undergrad years with the University of Montana, he attended Endicott College for a Master of Business Administration and continued his rugby career. Thiebes helped the Gulls earn a No. 6 national ranking in the National Small College Rugby Organization (NSCRO) Top-25 Coaches Poll, a CCRC Championship and an NSCRO Northeast Regional Championship.
Along with the two championships, Thiebes' individual accomplishments included: NSCRO Northeast Region Championship Most Valuable Player, and NSCRO Men's 15s All-Star Championship Impact Player (Northeast).
