NSCRO 7s QUALIFIERS: Endicott Punches Ticket To Nationals

ST. MARY'S, Md.  The Endicott club men's rugby team pitched a shutout performance this past weekend, defeating Susquehanna in the St. Mary's (Md.) 7s championship, 28-0, to clinch a berth to the NSCRO National Tournament in Philadelphia this June.

The Gulls put forth an impressive undefeated record (6-0) to kick off the 2018 spring season. Over the course of five matches (including one forfeit against Allegheny College), Endicott averaged 34 points per match and outscored their opponents 167-7. At least eight different team members contributed to the scoring frenzy, including the following: graduate students Ryan Cohane (Easton, Conn.), Jesse Adelberg (Old Greenwich, Conn.), Jackson Thiebes (Manchester, Mass.), Nick Iavicoli (Kalispell, Mont.), Marc Lerebours (Norwalk, Conn.), Nick Rowe (Avon, Conn.), senior Connor Moulton (Falmouth, Mass.), and freshman Matthew Gash-Gilder (Kalispell, Mont.).

"The boys executed every phase of the game and played a big tough team in the finals," said head coach Dave Kenkel. "It was a great weekend overall. We hit on all cylinders, putting to work their tough training. On a weekend like this, it's hard to single out one student-athlete... But for his tenacity at the breakdown and work rate, that award goes to Ryan Cohane. I look forward to helping the boys get ready for our trip to Nationals!"
