BEVERLY, Mass. - The Endicott club men's rugby team capped off an exciting victory over Boston University, 20-19, on Tuesday evening to advance to the CCRC Championship.

It was a very intense match from the start, however, Endicott came out strong and fast to a 17-0 lead. Various student-athletes, including graduates Jesse Adelberg (Old Greenwich, Conn.) and Marc Lerebours (Norwalk, Conn.), as well as freshmen Matthew Gash-Gilder (Kalispell, Mont.), used their agility and speed to bust out a few long runs, resulting in the first 20 minutes of the game being played in Boston University's end of the field.

The remaining 60 minutes were extremely competitive. Boston University emerged in the 2nd half to take a 19-17 lead, up until six minutes left in the match when a penalty kick put Endicott ahead, 20-19. From there on, the Gulls fought hard and managed to maintain the lead until the final whistle blew.

"We knew BU was going to be a tough opponent and the match would be a nail biter", said Assistant Coach Pat Cormeir. "I'm proud of our guys for fighting through more adversity than we've faced all season, and to eventually come out on top. We're looking forward to our next challenge against Salve in the conference championship."
