CCC CHAMPIONSHIP: Western New England Rallies Past Endicott For Conference Title, 9-8

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The second-seeded Endicott men's lacrosse team fell to first-seeded Western New England University in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship game, 9-8, on Friday evening at Golden Bear Stadium.

Trailing 7-5 with 9:49 remaining in the third quarter, the Golden Bears produced a 4-0 run that stretched into the fourth quarter to come away with their second straight CCC title and eighth CCC crown since joining the league in 2008.

With the win, Western New England earned the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament and will find out its first round opponent during the NCAA selection show on Sunday night at 9 PM.

Meanwhile, Endicott's season comes to a close at 11-8 overall with the loss.

Individually for the Gulls, Will Clark (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) paced the offense with a hat-trick, while Ben Clark (Burnt Hills, N.Y.), Mike Sudora (Monroe, Conn.), Andrew Soucy (Andover, Mass.), Nick Arcadipane (Groveland, Mass.), and Neal Parry (Marshfield, Mass.) all recorded solo tallies.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott's 11 wins this spring marks the 21st season the Gulls have recorded 10 or more victories in a campaign in program history.
  • Western New England will make its 10th appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament next week.
  • Patrick Dean (Westhampton, N.Y.) made a game-high 15 saves in the loss. It marks his 13th game this season with 10 or more saves.

Western New England (14-5) will find out its first round opponent during the NCAA selection show on Sunday night at 9 PM.
