Twelve Gulls Earn CCC All-Conference Honors; Garrity, Souza Claim Major Awards

CCC ALL-CONFERENCE RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. – Twelve members of the Endicott men's lacrosse program have received Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) postseason honors, as announced by the league office earlier today.

Grant Garrity (Duxbury, Mass.) and Hayden Souza (West Hartford, Conn.) headlined the group as the duo earned CCC Scholar-Athlete and Short-Stick Specialist of the Year accolades, respectively.

Garrity is the third student-athlete in program history to claim CCC Scholar-Athlete honors, while Souza is the first student-athlete in the history of the CCC to garner the Short-Stick Specialist of the Year award for three straight years.

Meanwhile, as a program, Endicott has won the CCC Short-Stick Specialist of the Year award in four out of the six seasons that it has been bestowed.

Along with receiving major conference awards, Garrity and Souza were named to the CCC All-Conference First Team for the second and third times in their respective careers.

Also joining Garrity and Souza on the CCC All-Conference First Team were Jack Sutherland (Sudbury, Mass.) and Will Clark (Burnt Hills, N.Y.). The CCC All-Conference Second Team honorees for the Gulls featured Nick Arcadipane (Groveland, Mass.), Andrew Fithian (Marshfield, Mass.), Patrick Dean (Westhampton, N.Y.), and Derek Yannone (Lynnfield, Mass.), while Ben Clark (Burnt Hills, N.Y.), Mike Sudora (Monroe, Conn.), Neal Parry (Marshfield, Mass.), and James Loughran (Cos Cob, Conn.) were tabbed to the CCC All-Conference Third Team.

In total, Endicott's 12 student-athletes who garnered CCC All-Conference honors today ranks tied second all-time in program history. The Gulls have achieved that feat in 2006, 2013, 2014, and 2019, while the program record for most the student-athletes named who received All-Conference honors is 13, which occurred in 2015.

GRANT GARRITY – CCC SCHOLAR-ATHLETE OF THE YEAR / CCC ALL-CONFERENCE FIRST TEAM

Garrity's academic resume includes a 3.90 cumulative grade point average as a finance major at Endicott. He also has earned two CCC Academic All-Conference honors, multiple Dean's List awards at the College and interned with General Electric Finance (full-semester), Oxford Global Resources, and the Boston Cannons of Major League Lacrosse (MLL).

Athletically, this season, Garrity has played in 16 games and compiled 24 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers. Garrity also has played a major role in the Gulls ranking first in the CCC in overall goals against average (GAA) at 8.54 and in conference-only contests at 6.88.

HAYDEN SOUZA – CCC SHORT-STICK SPECIALIST OF THE YEAR / CCC ALL-CONFERENCE FIRST TEAM

In games played this season, Souza has scooped up 34 ground balls and caused 10 turnovers to go along with three goals and four assists for seven points. Along with Garrity, Souza has been a major contributor to Endicott's defense, especially in terms of GAA, but also in clearing. The Gulls currently rank third overall in clear percentage at .801 and third in conference-only matchups at .811.

ALL-CCC FIRST TEAM

Sutherland has compiled 27 goals and 13 assists for 40 points in 16 games played this season. Five of Sutherland's goals have come on the man-up. He also has registered 30 ground balls and nine caused turnovers. Sutherland currently ranks 19th in the conference in goals, 20th in points, and 21st in assists.

Meanwhile, W. Clark earned a spot on the CCC All-Conference first team behind 13 goals (46th) and 15 assists (17th) for 28 points (34th) in 16 games played this spring.

ALL-CCC SECOND TEAM

Arcadipane boasts nine goals and 13 assists for 22 points, while Fithian has recorded 23 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers for the Gulls.

Dean's season in net has included an 8.38 overall GAA (1st) and a 6.25 GAA (1st) in conference play. He also has notched 171 saves (6th), a .578 save percentage (2nd) and nine wins (4th) in 895:17 of action (16 games played/16 games started).

Rounding out the list of CCC All-Conference second team honorees is Yannone who has been a force at the face-off X all season for the Gulls. Yannone currently ranks second in the conference in most faceoffs won at 212 (.679) and first in ground balls with 156. In conference-only play, Yannone ranks first in ground balls (80) and second in faceoffs (107).

ALL-CCC THIRD TEAM

In 16 games played this season, B. Clark has amassed 13 goals (46th) and 15 assists (17th) for 28 points (34th), while Sudora has totaled 35 goals (9th) and one assist for 36 points (23rd).

Parry has contributed 19 goals (31st) and two assists for 21 points (49th) and Loughran has registered 40 ground balls (23rd) and 28 caused turnovers (5th) to help guide the defense.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (9-7, 7-1 CCC) has earned the No. 2 seed in the upcoming Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Tournament and will host No. 7 seeded Wentworth this Saturday, April 27 at 1 PM.
