Men’s Lacrosse Downs Babson, 11-5

BEVERLY, Mass. – Led by a pair of hat-tricks from Mike Sudora (Monroe, Conn.) and Jack Sutherland (Sudbury, Mass.), the Endicott men's lacrosse team defeated Babson, 11-5, on Wednesday night at Hempstead Stadium.

The Gulls also received solo tallies from Derek Yannone (Lynnfield, Mass.), Hayden Souza (West Hartford, Conn.), John Koebel (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.), A.J. MacDonald (New Fairfield, Conn.), and Neal Parry (Marshfield, Mass.) in the win.

Trailing 1-0 early on in the matchup, Endicott rattled off four unanswered goals from the 9:20 mark to the 6:44 mark of the first quarter and rolled the rest of the way to the victory.

Both teams then exchanged the next seven goals – starting with Babson at the 13:57 mark of the second quarter – before the Gulls closed the valve on any comeback attempt by the Beavers with four straight tallies from the 8:25 mark of the third quarter on.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Yannone was once again stellar at the faceoff X going 16-for-19 with 15 ground balls.
  • James Loughran (Cos Cobb, Conn.) guided the defense with a game-high/career-high five caused turnovers.
  • Patrick Dean (Westhampton, N.Y.) had nine saves to improve to 4-6 in goal on the season.
  • Endicott improved to 4-1 all-time against Babson.
  • The Gulls have won four straight versus the Beavers.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (4-6) travels to Wentworth on Saturday, April 6 at 5 PM. Babson (5-5) visits Springfield this Saturday at 5 PM.
