Balanced Scoring Leads Gulls Past Gordon On Senior Day, 18-7

BEVERLY, Mass. - The Endicott men's lacrosse team defeated crosstown rival Gordon College, 18-7, on Wednesday evening at Hempstead Stadium on Senior Day.

Prior to tonight's contest, Endicott honored seven seniors, Cole McGarrigle (Norwell, Mass.)Joshua Heidrick (Littleton, Colo.)A.J. MacDonald (New Fairfield, Conn.)Grant Thompson (South Hamilton, Mass.)Charles Goulburn (Basking Ridge, N.J.)Colin Fahey (Boxford, Mass.) and student assistant coach Nicholas D'Elia (Stamford, Conn.) for their contributions to the program and the Endicott College community.

Endicott saw a balanced effort as 12 different Gulls scored. Ben Clark (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) paced the Gulls with three goals and two assists. Will Clark (Burnt Hills, N.Y.)Kenneth Speak (Melbourne, Australia), Neal Parry (Marshfield, Mass.) and MacDonald added two goals apiece, while Chris Reilly (Westwood, Mass.)Elijah Bard (Agawam, Mass.)Teddy Hannon (Duxbury, Mass.)Jack Sutherland (Sudbury, Mass.)Matt McCleary (Blauvelt, N.Y.)John Koebel (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) and McGarrigle each found the back of the net once.

Parry, McCleary, and Koebel highlighted the scoring efforts as all three student-athletes notched their first goals of the season (Parry & McCleary first career collegiate goals).

Meanwhile, in cage, Thompson made one save, while Patrick Dean (Westhampton, N.Y.) and Austin Fournier (Martha's Vineyard, Mass.) had two saves apiece.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott is 25-5 in the all-time series against Gordon.
  • Speak led the Gulls with a career-high three assists.
  • Faceoff specialist Derek Yannone (Lynnfield, Mass.) went 19-for-23 at the X and scooped up a career-high 18 groundballs, which is tied for sixth most in a single game. 
  • Goulburn guided the defense with four caused turnovers (game-high) and three groundballs. 
  • The Gulls went 17-of-20 on clear attempts. 

FOR THE FOES

  • Austin Early (Palmyra, Va.) led Gordon with four goals. 
  • Xander Miller (Shelburne, Vt.) chipped in with two goals, while Nick Palandjian (Belmont, Mass.) added a solo tally.
  • Jay Gallipo (Dover, N.H.) made seven saves for the Fighting Scots.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (4-8, 4-1 CCC) will travel to Curry College on Saturday, April 14 for a 3 PM start time. Gordon (4-7, 0-4 CCC) hosts Wentworth on Saturday, April 14 at 3 PM.
