Men’s Lacrosse Tops Salve Regina, 14-8

MIDDLETOWN, R.I. — The Endicott men's lacrosse team defeated Salve Regina University, 14-8, on Saturday night at Gaudet Field in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) opener for both teams.

Endicott found its form when it mattered most as the Gulls outscored Salve Regina 6-1 in the fourth quarter to pull away with the win. 

Meanwhile, in the third, freshman attack Jack Sutherland (Sudbury, Mass.) jumpstarted Endicott's offense when he buried a goal with two seconds remaining in the quarter for an 8-7 lead headed into the fourth. 

From there, Nick Arcadipane (Groveland, Mass.), Derek Yannone (Lynnfield, Mass.) and Myles Horn (Pocasset, Mass.) all scored in succession to make it 11-7 before Arcadipane, Will Clark (Burnt Hills, N.Y.), and Horn followed with markers later in the quarter to finish off the victory.

Arcadipane concluded the game with a hat-trick, while Horn, Clark, Teddy Hannon (Duxbury, Mass.), and Sutherland all had two markers. Andrew Soucy (Andover, Mass.), A.J. MacDonald (New Fairfield, Conn.), and Yannone all buried one goal, respectively.

Patrick Dean (Westhampton, N.Y.) also improved to 1-5 in goal with five saves.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott is 23-0 in the all-time series against Salve Regina.
  • Yannone won a career-high 20 face-offs and scooped up eight ground balls.

FOR THE FOES

  • Andrew Fera (Cranston, R.I.) paced Salve Regina with three goals and one assist for four points.
  • Matt D'Amore (Duxbury, Mass.) stopped a game-high 16 shots.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (1-5, 1-0 CCC) travels to Bates College on Tuesday, March 27 at 5 PM. Salve Regina (5-3, 0-1 CCC) visits Roger Williams next Wednesday at 4 PM.
