CCC WEEKLY RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott student-athletes Colin Bannon (Westport, Conn.), Tommy Hughes (Coram, N.Y.), and Grant Thompson (South Hamilton, Mass.) have all earned weekly awards from the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC). Bannon was named the CCC Offensive Player of the Week, while Hughes and Thompson picked up Specialist of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week accolades, respectively.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Bannon scored six goals and added three assists for a nine-point total during Championship Week. He scored four goals and dished out two assists in the title game as the Gulls went on to win 12-9 versus rival Western New England. His fourth and final tally with 1:30 left in the contest locked up the conference crown for his team.

SPECIALIST OF THE WEEK

As expected, Hughes kept his strong performance at the X going into Championship Week. He went 30-for-44 (68.2 percent) on the week while collecting 23 ground balls. Fourteen of his faceoff wins and nine of his ground balls came in the championship game against Western New England.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Thompson made 15 saves in each of Endicott's CCC Tournament games last week as he backstopped the Gulls to the CCC title. First in the semifinal against Curry, he stopped 15 of 21 shots. Then in the championship game, he denied 15 of Western New England's 24 opportunities. Thompson also posted a 7.50 goals-against average and 66.7 save percentage for the week.
